Robin Recognized as a DBTA Big Data 50 Company for Driving Innovation

Robin joins Industry Leaders Including Microsoft, SAP, Accenture, Oracle, Cloudera and DataStax on the List of Forward-Thinking Companies Working to Collect, Store, Protect and Get Value from Data

SAN JOSE, Calif. – September 18, 2018 – Robin, the industry’s first Kubernetes platform that brings self-service App-store experience and increased efficiency to Big Data, Databases and AI/ML, today announced that it has been named by Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) as one of the 50 leading companies to drive innovation in data.

DBTA’s Big Data Quarterly named Robin to its Big Data 50 list, which calls out forward-thinking companies that are working to collect, store, protect and derive value from data. Joining Robin on the list are industry leaders such as Microsoft, SAP, Accenture, Oracle, Cloudera, and DataStax. In June 2018, Robin was also named by DBTA as one of the Top 100 Companies That Matter Most in Data.

According to The 2018 Next-Generation Data Deployment Strategies Report Summary, by Joe McKendrick, research analyst, and produced by Unisphere Research, “Until recently, most data was generated for a single objective and difficult to repurpose. Much of it even ended up on tapes stored in a basement. The bottom line is that it was inaccessible to decision makers when the information was needed. A new generation of database tools and platforms is changing all that.”

The vast wealth of data now available to organizations from internet-scale applications and the growth of Internet of Things (IoT) is fueling the use of data lakes, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and predictive analytics solutions cites DBTA.

The Unisphere Research report, which highlights findings from a recent survey among DBTA’s readers, underscores this. It reveals that overall, 38 percent of organizations are employing data lakes as part of their data architecture, one-quarter of respondents’ organizations are using Machine Learning (ML) as part of their data architecture and 33 percent of these respondents with ML in place have already implemented it in the cloud.

“We are honored to have been named by DBTA as a top 50 Big Data innovator”, said Premal Buch, CEO of Robin Systems. “This recognition reinforces our ongoing goal of increasing productivity and delivering cost savings for enterprises that need better deployment and management of their Big Data and Database applications. We look forward to continuing to innovate with our Kubernetes technology which is designed to empower businesses to run their operations more efficiently while shortening IT and DevOps tasks from weeks down to minutes”.
