Robin.io CTO, Partha Seetala and Google Cloud Team to Present Breakout Session Anthos’ Storage, Seamless Data Management for Kubernetes, at Google Cloud Next ’19

WHAT: Partha Seetala, CTO for Robin.io, will be presenting a breakout session entitled “Anthos Storage: Seamless Data Management for Kubernetes” together with Google Cloud product manager, Manu Batra, and Google Cloud Software Engineer, Oleksiy Stashok. The Session will take place at the AMC Metreon, Level 3, Theater 15 on April 11 from 1:15 to 2:05 pm.

During this session, the presenters will explain how enterprise-class stateful workloads require advanced storage management support. The presenters will also discuss new storage management facilities for Google Cloud’s Anthos that extend GKE data management capabilities and provide integration with GCP & storage partners.

Google Cloud’s Anthos, launched at Google Next ‘19, is an entirely new platform for managing applications in today’s multi-cloud world. Robin announced partnership to bring storage and advanced data management capabilities to Google Cloud’s Anthos.

Born out of the partnership between Google and Robin.io that entails engineering to engineering collaboration to design standardized APIs for running data-centric workloads in Google Kubernetes Engine, Robin Storage used for enterprise workloads on GKE.

Use cases to be addressed during the session include:

  • Application-consistent snapshots with partner storage integration stored locally or in Google Cloud Storage
  • Rehydrating a stateful application instance from a backup stored in Google Cloud Storage to a GKE cluster (in the cloud or on-prem)

Partha Seetala is the co-founder and CTO of Robin.io. He has more than 20 years of technology as well as product expertise and has built 5 products from the ground up in the areas of Distributed Storage, Data Analytics, Distributed Database, Clustered File Systems and Application Management space. His previous position was with Symantec’s information management business, known as Veritas, where he was a Distinguished Engineer. In that capacity, he conceived, architected and led engineering teams to take multiple multi-million-dollar products from concept to market adoption.

Manu Batra is a Product Manager at Google, driving Google Cloud’s Anthos Storage for Stateful Hybrid Kubernetes workloads. He has 18 years of experience across startup and enterprise companies building storage & infrastructure management software.
